Dedicated memory

This is a side question off of my Cached RAM problem. Well I was playing BF2 and my game crashed. Windows said it had to close the game because my computer had run out of memory. I remember a while back my computer set all of my computer's unused RAM as dedicated graphics memory. I now have 1.5GB of RAM on my 8600GT. But now I can't remember how to get to the setting and change it back. Please can someone show me how to lower the RAM dedication?

Okay well then for the next person to read this. Can you go into

Computer -> System Properties -> Windows Experience Index -> View and Print Details

And please tell me what your dedicated system memory is, and your shared system memory is. Right now I have no dedicated system memory and 1.5GB available for graphics. I want to put 2GB into dedicated system memory so my computer doesn't have to use the page file when I play games.

Hmmm well I disabled my page file to make my computer go faster, but now when I play games the games crash because my computer says it needs to close the program because it has run out of memory. I think I might just buy 4GB of 6400 RAM and maybe I can disable page file again. I might also get an 8800GT, so that would help a little with graphics memory. I have 3GB of 5300 RAM at 5-5-5-15, would upgrading to 4GB of 6400 RAM at 4-4-4-12 be a huge increase in performance? Faster RAM would cost a lot more, I can get 1GB and complete the dual channel for $20. A new set of fast RAM would cost $80. In other words does getting faster RAM with shorter timings, in a sense, reduce the amount of memory needed or used? Or do I simply need to add more?
