Deep Freeze (software)?

i been look for program like this for years i what know if any good
and how much it is or if you know a software program that does about
the same as Deep Freeze (software)
 
i tested that software years ago, it was pretty good for what it was for. it does what it says its going to do but if you are concerned about lets say av updates or something else that needs to be updated you can schedule a section of the computer to be thawed so it can actually write changes to the computer. same thing if the person using the computer is going to write changes and it actually needs to stay you need to thaw that section of the computer. because as you know once you reboot the computer everything is back to how it was.

i dont know price.
 
i visted the home site and it said it was down or i forgot i got go back and check
and i what download that and use it to keep my computer safe form virus and i going
download so tools to miss around with and it said to download the Deep Freeze first
so that went your use the tools it keep you form destory or own systems
 
Yeah it basically reverts your computer back to "normal" after you reboot.... so you could get the nastiest virus on there and then reboot and it would be gone.. in theory. But also if you worked on a word document and saved it to your desktop and rebooted it would be gone too. unless your desktop was "thawed" as they say. I don't see this program being beneficial to a single person. It is aimed more towards schools and libraries i would think. Public kiosk type computers as well like hotel business centers. I think it would be more trouble than what is worth for you to use it on your personal computer. unless it was for like a childs computer maybe... or an elderly person that just uses a computer for the internet and email.
 
i save ever thing i do on flash drive off my computer my computer have history of kill them self after 2 or 3 months i set up with the program i what on it and than install the program
 
Well, he could use a sky drive or dedicated network drive to save all his stuff so he doesn't have to thaw it so often.
 
Ive just finished reading this thread and I just want to ask both of you guys if you understand each other?

Anyway, Deep Freeze is a great program! I really love it! Its very useful, Deep Freeze for the win!!!:D
 
Deepfreeze is a good program in the proper setting. I have used it for years in a classroom environment. Saved my bacon many times as I did not have spend a lot of time looking to see what some student had done to a computer. Simply reboot. The problem arises if you use it on a home computer that you will lose all of the data created. email received etc after a reboot. At this point Deepfreeze becomes a real pain. If you are going to use this program to cure virus ills then be prepared to put up with data loss as well.
In short Deepfreeze for the home user has many pitfalls. It is not worth the effort.
 
what i what to know is were can i git it for my computer a site i was on said to git it before i download a work station that wood help me create programs and there thing that wantn't say on here i save ever thing on a extranel hard and can copy ever thing over to that before shuting down Hibermate more then shut down i found the site but there wasn't any that show how to download it and use it or if you can tell a program like this that wood work as good

Deep Freeze is a good app. Are there better? Probably.

eg:

1. MS SteadyState does the same & is free

2. Returnil (free & paid versions)

Also while not the same thing as the other three listed there is VMWare (commercial) and Sandboxie (free & paid).
