Default playback changes on restart

I have an HDMI cable going to a receiver from my GPU. The receiver has surround sound and a TV on it that I use as a second monitor. I also have a headset plugged in to USB. I usually use the receiver for sound, and it is set as default playback. It used to be fine and would never change to my headset unless I did it myself, which is what I want. I upgraded my graphics cards a week ago from one GTX 780 to two GTX 970's in SLI. I have all the cables the same way, except now every time I turn my computer on or restart it, it sets my headset to default. It's not a huge problem but slightly annoying. How can I make it stay on the receiver for default playback?

Right click the volume icon and chose recording or playback. Select a device, click properties, click the advanced tab.

You may have to play with this setting for playback on the devices.
