Defrag times. Rather long times at that! Normal?

Hi

I'm new to the forum. I decided to fragment a folder on one of my sims that I play. I down loaded Defraggler as that allows you to defrag just a specific folder rather than the whole computer drive . The folder is 44gbytes

It has at it for about 18 hours now and is only %59 complete. Is this normal? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks in advance for your replies .

It can take a while but that seems like a too long.

I'm more curious why you intentionally fragmented a folder?

Defrag in itself is pretty obsolete these days. Windows handles that for you and if it's on an SSD, it shouldn't be ran at all.

Haven't seen many people try to target a specific folder for defrag. Does the full drive defrag take that long?

I'd start suspecting a failing drive if it's taking forever on these kind of operations. Are you trying to defrag it since your load times are really long?

It depends on how full the disk is as well. If it is spending a lot of time rearranging a ton of stuff so that it can make contiguous blocks that could explain it.
