defragmentation

My brothers computer has been partioned so it apepars.

It has 2 drives:

c:/ with over 26GB free
d:/ with about 100MB free

I want to merge them to one drive cos everything seems to come of drive d:/ which has 2% space remaining. In order to use 'disk defragmenter' it requires 15% available.

So I either need to:

-- increase space available for d:/ to defragmentate (assuming i am going in the right direction and havnt just confused myself).
-- or delete d:/ and make the computer run from c:/

Any ideas ?

You can use this free utility to adjust your partitions, such as give it another couple extra GB from your C: drive. Deleting it will cause you to lose all the data on D: if you don't back it up. Either way, this utility can help you. It's called Gparted Live Disc. It runs from boot up so make sure to have your bios set to boot from your disc drive or floppy (whichever method you choose).

All documentations and how to do it are there on the site. They are very thorough and will help you if you need it.
