Delete a bad email

I have a strange problem. I have one email in my in box that I cannot get rid of. As soon as I try to click on it, my email program shuts down. I get the message....Earthlink total access mailbox has stopped working. .....A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. I hate to go to E-Link support.

Have antivirus or IE protection? If you have an antivirus program iwth an email scanner that would be the first thought to see if the email is some type of I-Worm being circulated. With protection inplace the inbox is being closed out due to a malicious code being detected.

If you lack antivirus software AVG 7.5 is a free edition of Grisoft's antivirus software with an email scanner that will detect and at least quaranteen if not delete the offending mail you have there. http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5#avg-anti-spyware-free

Your last option would be to remove and then reinstall IE and Outllook Express if that is what you are using there. I would still look over Earthlink's FaQ oages for troubleshooting in the event that it's simply a problem with the program and not the email itself.
