Hi,
I am using Win XP. May I know how do I delete entirely from the content of "My Recent Documents" Folders? Where is it located.
:)
Fyi, "My Recent Documents" can be found by clicking "Start" tab.

right click the taskbar, click properties. now click the start menu tab and the customize. there should be a recycling bin icon, and nextto that the word clear, click it. :)

Thanks, Jan.
I am very appreciative and impressed on the efficiency of this forum to solve my doubts.
Great!

Yeah

Elmarcorulz's solutions is also very good. However, as you are aware, there are many more recent lists that do not get deleted. That's why MRU Blaster is a good solution that does a lot more than the in-built Windows option.

Hah

Yeah. There is a problem with that which Tweak XP does. Although you no longer see it, the list actually still exists ;). It's just hidden.

Open notepad and paste this text:

Code:
del/q %SYSDRV%\DOCUME~1\%USERNAME%\RECENT\*.*

Save file as "clean.bat".
Now you can clean recent files with clean.bat.

Good to have so many options...Thanks to all.

On the contrary, is there any software to ERASE the files COMPLETELY from the PC, such that no other software such as Tuneup utilities etc can retrieve them from the PC.

I would use the clearing options in the taskbar properties as elmarco said but if you want a temporary file removers than i would definately use CCleaner, i've been using it for quite a long time now and i've had no problems. Updates are also quite regular which i find as an extra bounus
