Deleted Files Question

Hi, I apolagize if this is in the wrong section of the forum or anything like that.

My two younger sisters are out of control and do way too many things that if I told you about them, you'd more than likely agree they shouldn't do.

So anyway, after my dad bought me a digital camera I managed to videotape them 'in action' a few times so myself and my mom would have evidence to show what they do while we are at home since it always seems that they or my dad talk the social workers, etc. out of placing them somwhere that they cannot hurt anybody.

This was working out great until I accidentally left my camera chip in our computer, and they got ahold of it and broke it into 4 pieces. Then they went on the computer and deleted all of the videos off of there as well...I was hoping they wouldn't know to remove them from the Recycle Bin, but apparently they did.

I have downloaded a few programs (which now I think may have been a mistake) that allow you to find deleted files, and the deleted folder with the videos didn't show up but on one of the programs, and it says that it has been 100% overwritten. I tried to recover it anyway, and it downloaded a picture of a flag onto my floppy disk?

So my question is, is there any hope that I can get these videos back? It is extremely important that I have them.

Or if they're not recoverable on the computer, would anyone know if there's a chance I can retrieve them from the broken camera chip somehow?

Thank you very very much.

you proabably don't have many choices here, sorry. You are right about downloading the other programs. They will overwrite on install, but there could be some recoverable info. You can download and install to an external drive or even flash drive. Not sure this is possible, but if you have a network, download future recovery programs on another PC. Then share the drive you want to search (probably C in this case). Run the program from the networked PC. You may have to map a network drive to your shared C drive before the program will recognize the drive.
I have had some luck with these:

good luck

free to use.

itll show u everything on that computer, if it hasnt been overwritten yet.

how to hopefully find ur stuff

Tools>
open disk

select the hard drive

itll show u all the stuff.

try navigating to where u kept the files, and if they are there, the names should be there, and if deleted, the icon will be a red x. If theres nothing there, u wont see the name.

if its there, and doesnt look like its been messed up, right click the file, and select copy/recover.
