Deleted something that shouldnt had been!

As the topic says I deleted something which I really shouldnt have had and are therefore desperate for any help regarding recreating this folder :S Its not in the bin since I always use shortcuts :P

REALLY hope someones able to help me, I am so hoping that a friendly knowing sole will be able to help!
 
If you right click on something and choose the delete option there it will still be found in the recycler unless it is too large. Have you looked anyways? But without knowing what was deleted how can anyone help you undelete or recommend a recovery tool?
 
True about your last part PC eye, but he says he always uses shortcuts, I assume he is referring to shift delete, which excludes the recycling bin in the process.
 
If it was a system file a repair install of Windows may be the only way to replace it. Part of a program? Reinstallation of the software there. Knowing the type of file deleted will be the thing needed here.(shift+delete on a system file? :eek: ! )
 
It's not a system file obviously. They are protected by Windows and will automatically be replaced.

If it's just a document or something, and you dumped it, I guess the best way to do it is to run file recovery software on it. Do a Google search for free programs (not the damn demos. They don't do shit. They'll search for it, say "YAY! I found it!" and then say "Ok, now buy me". Useless. lol

EDIT in response: System restore works too, but only depending on the restore dates set.
 
A system restore won't always bring back a system file that has been removed. With the installation disk you can at times manually expand a file at the recovery console. But the real question is what kind of folder was it. Did it contain system files or someone else's if you were on a system other then your own?

Yes, in theory anything that is deleted (except system files... like I said, system files are automatically replaced by Windows... by this I mean the files in the System 32 folder) gets placed in the restore directory. It just depends if it was created between the last restore point and the date he deleted it. That's the only catch.

If he can load into Windows no problem then he doesn't need to worry about any type of repair installs or anything else, theoretically. He should just be able to activate the System Restore feature to get it back... Hopefully. Worth a shot for sure.

The problem here is that DJ85 hasn't specified the folder that was deleted. Without knowing what that was you can point at anything. Until that time everyone is going to be a little :confused: :confused: :confused: at what to advice can be given.
 
theres a 99.99999999% chance that your file is nowhere to be found.
Trust me, ive been there before!
