Deleting an operating system

How to delete an OS? I don't won't to put the hard drive on another computer . Drive erase won't see an SSD drive. The OS DVD won't do it so is there a program or way to delete the OS because I put the wrong number in without being connected to the Internet when installing Windows 7 on my new computer and it took the number from the full version and now I have to install from scratch. I got the numbers mixed up from upgrade and full.
 
Boot from the install cd and then you need to delete existing partitions and then repartition and then install. Simple as that.
 
The OS DVD does let you, just boot off the DVD, go to the part where you select the drive to install the new OS, except go to advanced drive options, click on the drive, and format it.
