Deleting Backup Files in Windows XP

I have a backup folder on Windows XP and I want to delete it because it is taking up way to much space. When I click the delete button it says that I am not allowed to delete it. I am an administrator. The backup folder does contain some Windows files so that may be why it is not letting me. How can I delete this folder? Thanks!

Cut and paste to a DVD or Flash drive

or get AxCrypt and it will put an option into your right-click options under "Axcrypt">"Shred and Delete", See if that works

go to control panel>system>system restore>then check "turn off system restore on all drives"

Also, i'd recommend going into control panel>display>screensavers>power options>hibernate> and turn off hibernation

are you sure it's something that's safe to delete, even?

Yup, safe mode should do it. I was looking for some other type of program and couldn't find it.

Yeah, it's just a backup that I made when I got attacked by some trojans and had to reinstall Windows. Thanks!
