I have Linux Hoary, and need to delete everything on my hard drive, including the partitions.

How can i go about it? One person has suggested using the Linux install disk, but i can't find where to do this in there.

I can however, get to DOS with the following showing:

D:\win98

can i delete the hard drive and partitions through there?

Please note - absolute beginner.

deleting the partitions is easy, just f-disk or get your hands on an xp bootable disk and it'll do it. But to put them all back in to one big partition might take a program like partitionmagic

how do i f-disk - i have read about this but found it a bit to complicated. is there any programme that could just remove everything on the hdd for me.

FreeDOS. Cram it oon a CD and run F-DISK. Puppy Linux has the linux version of F-DISK and knoppix has QTParted, which can do almost anything with your partitions.
