I just installed Vista and now i have 2 O/S. I just realized that i miss some space on my hard drive so i want to delete my windows xp. How do i do that?
Im sure it's pretty easy but i just dont know it!

look into yout hard drive files , and ull see a file called old pc or was it old os , it was somting old and just delete the file.

Did you intentionally dual boot both versions or allow Vista to replace XP? What Vista does now not seen with previously versions is sow up all folders created by the previous installation into a single Windows.old folder. You will find more then the XP version of the Windows folder with the DocumentsandSettings and Program Files folders as well. Once you have what you need out of there you simply delete it off of the drive.

It said i need an autorisation to delete those file! I was only able to delete the ''Program files''. Is there no other way to delete it or i do i get this autorisation?

One fast way to solve the mess there would require deleting the existing primary partitions right off of the drive for a clean install of Vista. The adequate tool for this regardless of what OS is on a drive is the free Linux tool Gnome Partition Editor or more commonly known as GParted live for cd. This will take any partition off of a drive and create a new NTFS type primary.

You theh simply boot with the Vista install disk and choose the format option seen in the repair tools or let the installer do that while the setup files are being copied to the drive. Have a cd writer available? GParted live will blow right past the administrative restrictions imposed by Windows there.

The 0.3.3.0 version is the latest and fastest loading "platform indepoendent" version for easy use found at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=115843&package_id=173828 For a look over of the screen shots for the drive tool go to http://gparted.sourceforge.net/screenshots.php

If you are not able to delete the existing second partition with the installer while that would be rare with Vista being the newer version GParted will delete either or both easy enough. For seeing a good burn to cd-r of the GParted iso image the free version of BurnOn has worked great for this and is found at http://www.burnworld.com/burnoncddvd/
