Deleting viruses

Hi all, my Norton does not delete the daily viruses, what do I do?

1. Look up for the file path on the warning screen
2. Deactivate your anti-virus
3. Find the file
4. Right-click the file and select delete
5. Empty your recycle bin
6. Your computer is healthy again

well norton 2005 has an option for manual delete during scaning, this step is after norton tries to delete the file, but it always skips this step, why?
