Deleting Windows?

How do you delete Windows as i bought my computer as an ex display and after installing Windows i could not delete the system from when the shop had it.

I also then got a virus and had to reinstall it but again i could not delete the remaining ones (found in Documents and Settings).

So i now have p (PC World), Duncan (my original) and Duncan.HOME-746212B76F (my current one).

Please help someone, as my computer speed has slowed right down, slow moving games, slow unsmooth scrolling on internet etc.

I am running XP and all the others are XP too if that helps

Do you have any restore disks that came with the computer?

How would i go about doing that?

And no the only disks i got were Windows and drivers

burn your documents to a cd or 2, then put your windows cd in your disc drive and restart your computer

Ok, will it give me an option to completely clean the system?

Part of the setup process of installing Windows XP, gives you the option to format your hard drive (which wipes it of data). Select this option, format your drive, then install Windows XP afresh when that's completed. Make sure you save any documents or music you want saved to either a CD, or USB memory stick, or somewhere else that's off your computer and seperate. Then you can replace them once Windows is reinstalled and working properly.

And make sure you have option in BIOS set to boot from the CD first.
