dell 1390 wlan mini card issues?

Ok, i know im a newb here, but ive been searching the internet for the answer to an issue ive been having and i stumbled across this god of computer forums.

i have a dell inspiron 1501, running windows vista basic, and i have a dell 1390 wlan mini card. ive read a few places online that this card has a lot of connectivity issues, and ive been experiencing them too.

Ill be connected to the wireless internet just fine, with 2 or 3 bars, getting a decent download rate and such, and then i will have no internet connection at all, and my computer will not detect any networks. I try and wait for my computer to find the network again, but unless i restart my computer or uninstall/install the drivers for the mini card, the computer will not detect any networks.

has anyone heard of a solution for this? has anyone even heard of people having these problems.

if worse comes to worse ill replace my wireless card for a newer, better one, but im not that into this world, so i have no idea which card will work with my laptop. any suggestions?

im sorry, what do you mean inbuilt?
im not the best with computers, more into cars

and i already tried updating my driver, but it was already up to date

I think what he is asking is it inside the laptop itself, or is it usb/pc card slot?

im pretty sure its inside the laptop itself, there's no pull out card that i know of. and from searching other wireless wlan mini cards on the dell website, it seems to be an "inbuilt" card.
