Hi guys. Hoping you can help here.

I just bought a shitaro 4 port USB 3.0 pci-e adapter for my desktop to use with a new western digital USB 3.0 drive. I thought it would be easy enough to install until I realized it needs a 4 pin power source

I've done some research and it seems this is the same power source a floppy drive would use. However this desktop doesn't seem to have a power cable for that. No surprise I guess. Floppy drives are a bit outdated

I've got a DVD drive and two hard drives. They all use a black L shaped power cable to power the drives. There is one of these cables free. I think to power a second optical drive

So my question is. Is there an adapter I can buy that will connect to this remaining drive power cable and convert it to a 4 pin connector for my usb3.0 pci-e card?

Or is there another way that I'm not thinking of?

Thanks in advance!

Hi John,

I dont have a standard 4 pin molex connector. I've only got the one remaining SATA cable. See below link

So what I really need is the ability to plug this stat power cable into an adapter that will conver to a 4pin floppy power cable.

The one you showed me won't accept the SATA power cable. They are both female?
