Dell Dimension 4550

New Member
have an older Dell Dimension 4550 (533MHz FSB) Desktop/PC .

And the most its suppose to be able to hold is 1GB.

So does that mean that I can absolutely not upgrade it to 2GB's or more? I was looking into buying ram and then I found that out.

So does it only support 1GB or can I do something besides get a new motherboard that supports 2GBs?



And will this ram work in the Dimension 4550?

Dell says your desktop has 2 slots that support up to 512MB each. Getting a 1GB DIMM may work but on a machine that old I don't think it's worth it.
 
And I found a website that told which ram would work with 2GBs that one wasnt listed but I thought maybe someone knew.

I'm going to suggest that means the Corsair RAM will not work ;)
