Dell Dimension 5150 Problem

I urn my compuyrt on and it cannot find the HDD. Then i start and it works normal. But i have lost some of my folders and files from two diffrent HDD's.

Any ideas of what might be csuing this.

If the computer is constantly moved, banged, wobbled, or crashed into, the HDD could easily accidentally erase something things. An virus could do that too.

when i turn the power on the computers turns on automatic. do you think i power surge would corrupt two hard drives

Maybe. That's why surge protectors were made .

Let the computer boot, then turn it off manually. Turn off the... switch. Turn it back on, does the computer turn on with it again?

yes it does
