Is the point where you plugged in the cable somewhere near all the USB ports or is it coming out of a dedicated video card in one of the expansion slots?
Try connecting to the panel where internet and USB ports are. It could be that you need to install drivers before using the card, or as I said before, the option needs to be enabled in your BIOS.
This is a very old computer. Your motherboard is most likely shot. You can try resetting the cmos by removing the battery. Unplug power from power supply, remove cmos battery, press and hold power button on case for 10 seconds then wait 10 minutes. Then reinsert battery, reconnect power and try booting up.
its ok messed it up now blew power supply popped and smoked on me new question would that have affected the ram? no harddrive was connected or disc drives thanks
