Dell Drivers

I bought a used dell optiplex GX260 pc, and installed new win Xp to it, but now i lost the sound and internet, when i go to device manager i see (?) on them...i tried to download drivers from Dell web site, but it didnt work (i download what was recommended by dell)....any another solution? any another site i can download them from.? any help.
i would really appreciate that !
 
I've never had any issues with drivers from Dell. Try using your service code rather than general system model. I know some later machines could come with different hardware. I don't think the GX260's had too many variations, but I'm not totally sure.

However, there may be more than one Driver for your sound/network. I'd take a look at all the options listed for those two and try each one. It's not a bad thing how Dell has it set up like that, just a bit confusing for folks who have never used t before. If possible, if you can post your Service Tag (Is that allowed Mods?), I can take a look and try to pinpoint the two you need.

If the reinstall doesn't work, open the device manager and delete anything with a "?" or a "!". Then, right click on any tab and click "Search for hardware updates". It will ask for drivers and whatnot. It should either: A)Find a good windows driver or B) search windows update for a good driver.
