I was told a while ago that even though the dell inspiron had integrated graphics, i could improve the graphics by getting a card which goes into my PCMCIA Slot. Is this true? If so, does anyone have a link to one so i can get an idea of prices...

thanks,

Can i change how much ram the integrated card uses?
Ans also, is this any good for running apps like flight sim at reasonable quality?

No, you can't do anything like that... Not an improvment, anyway. There are a couple PCMCIA video cards, but they are not gamming cards. Also, it wouldn't use your LCD, you'd have to use an external monitor.

As for the RAM, trust me, the less you have allocated, the better. I seriously doubt you'll be able to urilize anything more than the smallest amount. Also, I think that one dynamically changes the amounts allocated. If not, it's either somewhere in control pannel or in the bios(F1, DEL, or some key like that during POST...before the XP loading screen)

Very few laptops have upgradeable graphics cards. I'm quite sure if you have the Intel GMA 900 chipset, it's not one of them... Sorry
