So i just installed a fresh copy of Windows XP on my laptop, but none of the drivers that i am downloading off of the website are working for it..

the Laptop is a XPS m140, is there any site that isn't Dell that will have the drivers i need? cause none of theirs work for some reason. :\

The only driver i actually need now is the Network driver, i cannot for the life of me get this thing to pick up internet.. what's going on?

It did come with a driver CD, yes, but i misplaced it and cannot find it anymore. I figured that the drivers they gave me on the dell website would work, but they aren't. How do i check to see if it's saying its installed or not? Also is there any way to check the name of the wireless adapter inside so i can find the driver?

i also figured that if i hooked it up with a cable and not wirelessly it would work, but still no good. when i did that, it showed a yellow light on the left of the cable, and an orange light on the right.

If you don't have a NIC driver, Dell is very good with their driver downloads. Just find the service code and get it from their site.

Call then up and request reinstall disks choke down a price if one exists, I know that they sent me multiple sets of install disks when I had to reinstall. But those were under their instruction to resinstall. Other than that their should be a disk "For Reinstalling Delltm Tools System Software" that has all the basic chipset drivers.

i agree dell is very good with their driver downloads, like The_Other_One says
find the service code sometimes called the service tag and look up the driver for that computer.

I input the service tag and everything, but i can't find the right driver for my network card, there's a bunch listed for this computer.
