Dell Inspirion E1705 power issues

Not sure what to do at this point. I noticed the battery light (even when laptop is off) blinks every 10 seconds. I replaced the battery and the power supply and it still blinks. Not sure what the problem is, and the power supply gets very hot (when using the laptop), even the new one I just bought.

Any suggestions?

I've had 2 dell laptops, an Inspiron and a Studio and both chargers get extremely hot while charging. Usually the battery light will blink when the charge hits like 95 percent until fully charged. Unless you have some other issues.

So then it's normal for the batt light to blink for a bit when its almost fully charged? And as far as getting hot, that is normal I guess, but you say only when it's charging it gets really hot?

Does your laptop hold a charge? If so don't worry about it. I have a studio and my power supply gets hot two from being plugged in.

Yeah, its a new battery and power supply. What is also weird is sometimes when I used it on power and not battery and turn it off, the battery light still blinks sometimes. I rarely use the laptop on battery only, its always plugged.
