Dell Inspiron 1545 power problems... Will docking station power laptop??

Hello,
My dell Inspiron 1545 has stopped charging - no power supply is getting to my battery so not able to access any of my work!!

Would a docking station be a solution until I can get a new motherboard and someone to put this in for me?

Hi Maths pricey,

Docking station on the computer would just help you power on the computer and might not charge the battery.

Kindly check if there is a light on the AC adapter and if you could check with a different good known adapter. Also if the motherboard has gone bad even the docking station would not help and you will have to wait for the replacement

I do not think that you can use a full docking station with the 1545. I am not seeing a listing for it on the dell site. Now knowing this, it may be better for you to take it to a shop and get them to fix it. Should only be around a hundred or so to get it fixed.

Now on the off chance I missed it, if it does have a doc port, then you can power the laptop off of it. I know I can charge the M90 or D630 both off the D dock. I have done it before. But as said, I do not think inspiron has the dock port.
