Dell Inspiron 546 cannot boot with printer and portable harddisk connected

Hi All,

I just fixed my inspiron 546 by replacing a new ram and now found that it stuck in the middle of rebooting when printer and portable harddisk are connected. However, when I remove printer and portable harddisk it can correctly reboot. Does anyone have experience like this before? What is the reason? Thank you very in advance.

Have you tried taking out the new ram to see if it boots up correctly? Might have defective memory.

Go into the BIOS and disable booting from USB. I had a Gigabyte mobo that would hang if I had any sort of USB storage attached.

I just disable boot from USB and other device and reboot the computer. Yes. It work very well. Thank you very much. PohTayToez.
