Which is why I'm suggesting to try installing it via flashdrive since you think the CD drive is failing :P
 
Almost done with transferring the Windows XP files to the usb...this is gonna be weird we'll see how this will turn out.

There is a difference, yes, but you can still use a USB flash drive.

As far as helping you anymore, I can't really do anything else for you, as I've exhausted all my options. Maybe someone else will chime in with their opinion.
