Dell Latitude D800 that turns off randomly

It is running Windows XP and I have tried windows 7 and it runs them well. I have upgraded the ram. It runs for about 15-20 mins before it cuts off. Thanks!

Is it overheating? Is the RAM/hard drive good?

I got the ram from a similar laptop with power supply issues. It worked well in the other computer. Hard drive seems fine and windows 7 installation never reported anything.

Have you tested it with diagnostic software though?

It's will do it on both. Today it was plugged in when it happened. Screen and everything goes off but the lights stay on and don't do anything.

Use memtest86+ and then use the HDD manufacturer diagnostic.
