dell motherboard question

I have a dell 9400 and with a yb612 motherboard, I bought it off this guy I work with and it has a video problem and it doesn’t like being plugged in. Well I had someone look at it and they told me that the issue was in the motherboard itself and if I wanted to keep the computer that it would be cheaper to buy a new motherboard, a referb board is about $90.

Well my question is that the board doesn’t have integrated video, so I was wondering if I should just get the referb yb612 or if I should get the referb df047, I noticed the difference is the location of components on the board itself, but the big difference that I liked is that the df047 has 2 internal fans which provide cross cooling, where the yb612 only has the one. Both boards are about the same price and both need a video card.

If anyone could provide me with any more information on the difference between the 2, and if there are any upgrades I could do, there is 4 gigs ddr2 in it already, but could I but in a quad or is it stuck with the CPU that it has

Are we talking about a laptop or desktop here? The only "dell 9400" that shows up in google is this:

Googling those motherboards turns up nothing useful.

If it's a laptop, then only the a board made for the 9400 will fit.

Yes it is the dell 9400, sorry about that. and it is YD612 not YB612 sorry again. But both motherboards will fit into the 9400. actually their are 4 motherboards that will fit the difference is the df047, WH277, TM282, which allows for 2 cooling fans, than their is the WX413, AND THE YD612 only allow for 1 cooling fan but they all fit in to the dell 9400 case.

here are links to the df047 and the yd612

If they all fit and all of the screwholes and connectors line up, I don't see a problem unless the chipset changes...in which case you'll likely need to reinstall Windows.

My only concern would be that the heat sink may not line up properly. What appears to be the north bridge is in different spots on the two boards.
