Hello

I bought a faulty Dell Latitude D531 and have a question about a lose connector on the motherboard,

where exactly is this connector supposed to go?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as this is really bothering me! :)

Thank you,

Oliver

Had a quick look in my motherboard manual and theres no connector like that. It might be a header for another in/ou connector as it is right next to the I/O panel. Especially with that short lead.

If I were you I would look at some random motherboard manuals from around the same time and see if they have that connector in the schematic.

Hope that helps, Doug.

Does it go to the LCD Screen? It looks like it might go to the LCD panel. I don't work with dells much so its just a guess.

Dont think so, the lcd cable usually has around 30 pins and really thin wiring. Looks to me like the kinda cable that goes to the audio out, the quicklaunch buttons, or the front panel like where you have the infrared port(if it even has an infrared). But since its at the rear and not the front... ill bet its to the power/quicklaunch buttons.

I have had more then 1 cable before go to the LCD panel. It very well could go there. It could also go to your power buttons or your HDD LED panel. I would check that out as well.... Like you said, It can be the quick launch buttons. But do check the LCD panel.
