Dell Optiplex GX110 - RAM Upgrade?

I'm currently running two 256mb chips in my (now, rather antiquated) Dell Optiplex GX110. I really would like to upgrade to 1gb if at all possible. Official advice from Dell lists the max as 512mb which I've currently got, but I am wondering if there is any way around this?

Thanks for any comments.

a gx110 huh?
that's a fairly old system
don't get many calls on them anymore really
all you need to do, if you ever have any technical specification questions is check support.dell.com
click on like medium and large business or whatever. it don't matter
then highlight product support at the top and go to user guides
whatever it says there is all it can handle
512 is the max bud
sorry
and with as old as the system is, you'de be better off to upgrade the system

theres the new optiplex gx280's that are out now which are sweet
my favorite though is the new dimesion gen4
the look of them is amazing(especially for dell) and they got some decent hardware in them
and pretty good as far as being able to upgrade

one more tip, if at all possible, order the computer through a company like an employee purchase plan or something like that
you may not get all the rebates and stuff, but if you ever need to call in for tech support you'll actually be handled here in the good old usa
trust me

If Dell tells you that you can only support 512, you can try and get more in there. Only thing you can do it get a new mb, but i dont think you want to do that. ;)
