i have a dell 1.9ghz p4 FSB400mhz, i think and i want to overclock it. on the dell's bios there is no option to do this but, i thought that if i updated the bios with a more recent version which has higher setting then this would overclock it. could some one tell me if this would work. As the normal ways of overclocking using the bios isnt an option.

cheers

Dont think its doable since Dell uses in-house made BIOSes to limit such activity.... if you're running a Dell version of a mainstream board, you could try loading a BIOS for that but i wouldnt advise that :)

i wouldn't advice that either but hey! how can i tell what hardware is in my box, can i run a program or something that tells me. if i do find an acceptable bios is there anyway i can reinstall the old one?
