Hello,

I was able to get Dell Precision T3500 from my work for free, and I would like to make it a low budget gaming commuter.

The Specs are:

24GB DDR3 RAM

EVO 850 – 500GB

Video Card : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960

Processor: Intel Xeon W3505 @ 2.53GHz.

I have couple questions and would be very thankful if someone could provide me with some answers.

Questions:

1. Please see screen shot of the computer system, it states : MODEL -Precision T5810.

So my question is , why the tower model is T3500 and actual model is T5810.

Was the motherboard switched at some point? And if so, do I actually have T5810 in a tower for T3500.

2. I was thinking about upgrading the processor to something faster, can anyone give me an advice of which processor to get (model). I was looking up a processor for T3500 and I think the fastest I can go for that is Intel Xeon X5675 or Intel Xeon X5670. Can any one confirm that this is the fastest processor that T3500 can support?

3. However if the system says Precision T5810, can I get better processer? And If I can which one should I get (model).

Thank you all for input.

Doing online searching will tell you that the T5810 supports e5-1600 series cpu's and the T3500 supports the W series cpu's so it seems the t5810 is wrong. What motherboard is in it?

Well I thought it was E139765 but getting a mix of different machines and Intel and AMD boards. So that can't be right.
