having a very irritating problem with reformatting my dell inspiron 1525 laptop. i do the partitions with the first disc put in the second disc, do the languages after waiting for the files and all that, click accept terms of use. then i delete, click new and format the new partitions, click next, and then it does the first check ok, then it gets to expanding files where it keeps stopping at 25% everytime and gives me the awesome message of "windows cannot access the installation sources. Verify that the installation sources are accesible, and restart the installation." god i love seeing that 1700 times.....

so basically any help would be awesome, i just wanna get this heap of junk working again until i can afford something better. thank you for your time and patience.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Let's get a little info first so we can better answer you. Which version of vista are you trying to re-install? Is this an OEM/Retail type Vista CD/DVD or is this a system restore disc that you made yourself with the vista utility? Have you upgraded any hardware since you got the laptop new? (added and more RAM for example?)

Some people find vista re-installs to go smoother if you do a clean wipe hard drive format using Hiren's boot cd or similar utility before attempting to put everything back.

Good luck and let us know if there are any other questions when installing.
Cheers.
