ok so yeah it was a stupid decision but we did...about 3 years ago we got a new comp at home...i am the only one who uses it so no one else cares but i do...ITS SO SLOW!! it only has a 30Gb hard drive so i think thats what makes it so slow...cause actually the P4 isn't too bad...anyway i was thinking of upgrading to like a 80 or 100gig hard drive but im not sure if i can use the "Windows Reinstall" disc to put xp home back on...anyone know if it'll work??or possibly get another hard drive to use as slave(tho can i still install games on that?)?
P.S. i'll prolly also get another 512mb stick of ram so i have a gig

It should work, installing it on a new h/d. As far as slowness you could run disk defragmenter, and check your running proceses. If you need more hd space, i would clean up the 30 gig, and just leave the OS on there, and install a slave drive, and use that for all your data, etc.

How much space you have left on your hard drive has nothing to do with how fast your computer is. Getting another stick of RAM will help you out though, just make sure your powersupply is big enough to support it. Also, try running spyware scans and get CCleaner (it's free off the web), it's great. Get Spybot Search & Destroy for your spyware protector, its free too.
