Dell Using AMD

How do Intel Xeon processors compare with Opterons when it comes to using it as a hosting server or something of that nature?

AFAIK, Opterons do slightly better or the same as Xeons in 2 processor configurations, but in 4-way setups, AMD really rules.

Hmm... I'm happy that Dell finally came to their senses and use AMD. Good for them

I'm wondering, what do they mean by they only use their servers?

What does servers mean?

Thank you

Dells make specail "Sever" PC's. That are for well, Servers, they are not made for the average person to do regular things, the most commen use for a server would be to host a website.

It is about time Dell gave in to the demand of AMD, when they bring it in to force they will find themselves making alot more money. People just don't want Intel anymore except businesses and even they are starting to turn. This must be why Intel are now providing macintosh with processors ha ha ha
The world of PC is soon to be AMD until something better arrives, if it ever does that is!!

I wouldnt say that, alot of people these days still buy Intel's. Especially since Intel has the cheapest dual-core processor, which is in the same price range as a high-end AMD Sempron.

A lot of people haven't even heard of AMD (like my dad) because Intel does so much more marketing. I have never seen an AMD commercial on TV.
