I need some advice please.
My computer (Dell Dimension XPS Pentium D 2.8ghz, 2 gigs Ram, 256 ATI x600) is dying a not so slow death....I cannot even add a new Optical keyboard/mouse as there are conflicts. I do not have the disks to format and re-install.....
The computer is used 18 hours a day and i switch from Outlook to 3 I.E. windows, Quickbooks and whatever else. I have a 24" widescreen Dell FP and a 20" 4:3 FP as my secondary where the e-mail and Accounting stays open.
I Use Photoshop and Corel and Nikon software for my product pictures to use on my E-commerce sites.
I wanted to buy a compuer today or next week....and I could easily buy a Dell Dual Core 2.4 with 2 or 4 gigs of Ram and a 512 Video card NVidea or ATI....then it would come with all the Bloatware....
I could buy a Xeon Office machine which runs the same or a bit more than the $2700 of the unit above....and not have the bloatware but I do not know about the differences in the Office/workstation Chips. Then there is Velocity where I can have one made to order for pretty much the same price and get the disks....but the thought always remains.....Dell is Dell, I am in austin and I have always used them except for the time I was stupid and bought an HP made to order and it was the worst.
I am typing on a Laptop IBM/Lenovo that I love but their Desktops are not that hot with the equipment....My computers are worked but not used for gaming....I want performance and smooth saling....
Any thoughts on Dell Vs. Velocity or maybe some other brand that is as good and trustworth as for build.
Thank you very much
Elliot Lazarus
