Dell vs. Velocity Micro vs.????

I need some advice please.

My computer (Dell Dimension XPS Pentium D 2.8ghz, 2 gigs Ram, 256 ATI x600) is dying a not so slow death....I cannot even add a new Optical keyboard/mouse as there are conflicts. I do not have the disks to format and re-install.....

The computer is used 18 hours a day and i switch from Outlook to 3 I.E. windows, Quickbooks and whatever else. I have a 24" widescreen Dell FP and a 20" 4:3 FP as my secondary where the e-mail and Accounting stays open.

I Use Photoshop and Corel and Nikon software for my product pictures to use on my E-commerce sites.

I wanted to buy a compuer today or next week....and I could easily buy a Dell Dual Core 2.4 with 2 or 4 gigs of Ram and a 512 Video card NVidea or ATI....then it would come with all the Bloatware....

I could buy a Xeon Office machine which runs the same or a bit more than the $2700 of the unit above....and not have the bloatware but I do not know about the differences in the Office/workstation Chips. Then there is Velocity where I can have one made to order for pretty much the same price and get the disks....but the thought always remains.....Dell is Dell, I am in austin and I have always used them except for the time I was stupid and bought an HP made to order and it was the worst.

I am typing on a Laptop IBM/Lenovo that I love but their Desktops are not that hot with the equipment....My computers are worked but not used for gaming....I want performance and smooth saling....

Any thoughts on Dell Vs. Velocity or maybe some other brand that is as good and trustworth as for build.

Thank you very much

My recommendation would be to back up your files and then buy an OEM copy of Windows and do a reformat.

However, if you still want to buy a new computer, I would strongly suggest building your own. It's not really that hard, and there are many people who would help you figure out what parts you need and what's best for your budget.

Thank you for the input

I am not really inclined to build one as we know there will always be a kink and I really do not have the time to put one together....

I am an advertising guy and own 9 internet websites for selling. so I need performance and 99.9% uptime......

I know I can save money but my interest is getting a one made for me that is beter than the Fry's/Circuit City/Comp USA assortment of price point compuetrs.

I hope this does not come off the wrong way....but I prefer to spend my time with the 400 e-mails and 300 phone calls a day....

Thank you

does that mean you make those HORRIBLE popups and banners at the top of sites that make stupid noises??? if so i banish ye to hell

buy the parts and have the store like compusa put it together for you, you can save a ton o cash and get top notch compenents suited exactly for your needs

No Pop ups

No we don't have any pop ups or goofy things....people who come to my websites are passionate about Panerai watches plus other brands.

My public forum gets 25,000 hits a day.....

There is only one Banner and that is just a small picture of my current top of the line watch Strap.....I do not allow advertising on my web sites.

As for Comp USA...no thanks....Those people all have opinions without, sometimes, the experience......I prefer to get it done right the first time....

So? Velocity, Dell or is there a company like ABS or whatever that is Superior?
