DEMON Possesed drive!!!!!

I have a dvd combo drive(dvd=r, cd-rw) by samsung on my computer. It opens and closes constantly for no reason like it's possesed. I have updated my firmware on the drive. Is it dirty? broken? or what?

How do I fix this?

Help please!!
 
Sounds like the open/close button is screwed up or is too sensitive. I don't know of any way of fixing it unless you want to take it apart and see what's the problem.

i had a possessed drive too, the open/close button had some junk between it so it was touchy ... i knew it was evil when i caught it masturbating out the window and cursing Jehovah's witness's while drunk....
 
Hey

There are some joke programs that open/close your drives randomly just to annoy the hell out of you. Make sure that that's not the case.

When does it happen? Any time, just in windows? I saw a drive a while back that did it all the time(POST, while booting, etc) I don't remember if it actually worked, but we ended up just trashing the drive. If the firmware didn't fix it, there might be something majorly wrong with it...
 
Yeah definitely.. there are programs that open/close your drive constantly, makes your mouse pointer crazy, etc. Which I think can be the problem.
I actually used to have that program.

So something you can ask yourself is.. Does it happen at stratup also? Or when your OS completely loads?
