Denebs will overclock good

The Phenom II X4 3ghz model is already being considered here upon seeing some information on the new line up coming out in 2009. Right on the page seen at the link there you'll note the "unlocked" multiplier on the 3ghz model.

The e8400 came out a good while back and goes higher then 4ghz no problem. now if this amd could do 4.5-5 then i would be impressed but i don't believe that AMD has stepped up their architecture to even begin to compete with Intel processors on any level.

I will say that i'm rooting for AMD, i do like them, but i am not blind to the fact that their processors are total crap right now.

I'll believe it when I see some real benchmarks, not promises from the company. Never buy into what a company promises. I like AMD but it will take some huge changes to take Intel down a notch. Though, ATi did it to nvidia, so its possible.

Both Intel and AMD as well as now seen AMD/ATI and NVidia will continue to bolster one claim after another as part of the marketing schemes being in competition with each other. Authors for various articles will often "be asked" to more or less "make us look good" by any company.

The Phenom IIs simply look better due to the fact that AMD has simply lagged behind Intel in the quad core dept. first seeing the twin FX-74s. The FX-60 939 dual core and later AM2 6000+ and 6400+ models are showing AMD is finally getting into the clock speed arena over the more work per clock cycle concept.

Hopefully they don't repeat Intel's past mistakes focusing just on clock speeds in the newer models to come.

A quad overclocking to 4GHz and a dual going to 4 isn't the same at all. 4 on a quad is pretty darn impressive...but then again, we'll need to see some benchmarks once it comes out.

Everyone knows that Intel's still going to have the fastest processor in all likelihood, but not everyone wants to pay out the ears for a $1,000 CPU (965). If AMD's Deneb is even close to the low-mid Nehalems and sells at more reasonable prices, I'd say the launch is a success.

All this talk about a fast processor? pfft. mine is so slow. it just stays still all of the time in my PC.

has anyone even looked into the Core i7 yet? Intel and AMD have swapped places, Intel FTW for the next 2-3 years.

Actually, i think it is perfectly plausible. A lot of people have gave shit to AMD, and now they coming back with a middle finger facing Intel.

I have faith with AMD they are far from being out.

The Deneb is going to be the way the original Phenom SHOULD have been to begin with.

avert your eyes to our well known VIP member, OMEGA. he currently has an intel quad core overclocked to 4ghz.
