Desktop Computer Not starting up.. Please Help. Thanks

Hello

Today in the morning my internet was lagging so I decided to turn my computer off and turn off my modem to let it rest since I kept my computer on for the past 3 weeks. After 10 mins I went to plug my modem back on and turn my computer back on it wouldn't boot up. When I turn it on my screen shows me AI Series P4P800 SE ASUS Motherboard. On the bottom it says Press DEL to run Setup, Press TAB to display BIOS POST Message. I press DEL and TAB but it doesn't do anything. If there is a problem with my CPU my computer shouldn't even turn on right? What is the possibility? I hope this is the correct section to post my thread. I couldn't find a category that would state my problem. Thank you in advance for your help.

- What happens if you dont press any of those keys? does it boot up?
- When you turn the power on do you hear any "BEEPs" or noises from the computer?(make sure the internal speaker is connected to the Motherboard...should be near the front).
- What type of modem is it? Have you tried turning the computer on without the modem on or connected to the PC?

Thank you for your response. I have figured out the problem. It was this USB hub I bought from ebay, I connected to the computer for extra USB ports and I decided to pull it out and my computer booted up. A friend also told me to update my bios and I also done so. Thanks again for your time. If you know how to delete this thread that would be great.

Something else to consider is to have a look to see if the PSU is sufficient to power the rest of the system ... i wouldnt expect a port expander to give you a problem like this but things happen :)
