Desktop email notifier?

Is there a program that will notify me of a new email that shows up on my desktop and possibly alerts me by a sound?

If you have a keyboard with an LCD screen (Like a logitech g15) you can email notifications on those, they have specific programs for the keyboard itself for that. I have one (the g15 keyboard) but I mainly use it for telling the time.

What email client do you use?
