Don't buy DDR RAM - it's old and more expensive than current faster&cheaper DDR2 RAM. And yes, Q6600 is a good CPU but as to what's the best type of CPU - depends on your needs. You may want to post your budget&purpose of the machine and some of the pros around here will plan out a build for you.
