desktop icons gone

Tried rebooting and same. taskbar is ok. Only the recycle bin is there.
Using Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

That usually only happens when you reset back to factory or a fresh install of windows. But try this.

Right click on desktop and click on view, click on show desktop icons.

That did it John. No i did not reset back or did fresh install. Was just another normal day then gone. Dont have a clue why either.

Then someone accidentally unclicked show desktop icons somehow. Glad it was an easy fix.

Now im thinking about something else that happened previously. Cursor disappeared. It was there but could barely see it. Looked like a 'I' and very light. Rebooted then walked away from the computer and came back later then cursor was there but the icons were gone.
Yes, its ok now. Dont know. Im running dual monitors 24" Synmasters. News freek on one screen and watching tv on the other with a Slingbox. had the slingbox for a long time though. working now. everything is normal. again.......
