I wish to have a Desktop PC. Please give me the advice - whether I have to go for assembled or branded (like HP/DELL) one?
I am in India and my budget is around Rs 30000 - 35000. Please give me the information regarding the best processor, speed etc so that I can have PC Within my budget.

To my knowledge, 3500 rupees is about 80 canadian dollars. you won't be able to get much for 80CAD$. I don't know how the pricing is in India. What are you looking to do with this computer?

I don't know what availibable in your country. With $750, you would be after something like this ( I assumed you after gaming machine)

Athlon IIx4 / Athlon II x3
AMD 880G/ 870 mobo
ATi 5770/ GTX 460 768MB/ AMD 6850
2 x 2GB RAM
500GB - 1TB SATA II HDD
DVD burner
cheap case + good quality 500 - 600W PSU
Windows 7 Premium 64bit OEM

No Iam not using for Gaming. It is for writing and project preparing. I had PC (1990 model!) passed away recently! So I have to go for a new one.

Yes go for an assembled one, you can get all parts in India,
which projects are you aiming to do in the PC?

If you after office application, HP/ dell would be OK.
If you decide to build one, here is the list.

PhenomII x6 1055t + AMD 880G mobo
or core i5 760 + H55 mobo
2 x 2GB RAM
500GB - 1TB SATA II HDD
DVD burner
cheap case + good quality 500 - 600W PSU
Windows 7 Premium 64bit OEM
GT240 / ATi 5670 (optional)

I agree with the previous post. Since you're only looking for a computer that would handle basic wordprocessing and I am assuming web browsing. You'd be better off just going with a low end branded Dell/HP... or any other well known computer manufacturer. Not that I am knocking the benefits of a pre-assembled computer built to specs.
