hi guys, just had a problem trying to start up my desktop, it gets to the user login screen and once i have entered the password and clciked enter it starts to load and the screen goes black, thats it. it works in safe mode and loads like it should. i first thought there wass a problem last night as i was watching a film and the screen just went black, but i gave up trying to fix it that late and turnt it off. anyone have any suggestions as to what it might be?

no it doesn't restart it jsut stay's black as if the pc is running but nothing going to the monitor. i tried logging in a few times now but no luck, i done a disk clean up aswell but still didnt work.

what a wonderful idea, you know after buying this card a few months ago for £120 why not waste another £120 . dont give me stupid answers.

you know, if you dont find another person's comment helpful, there is really no need to start insulting :)
anyway, back to your question. it could be a graphic driver problem. try downloading the latest update for your card and install it in safe mode.

if it starts ok in safe mode then do again and create another profile with admin rights. then restart.

does the taskmanager shows up when u press ctrl+alt+del??
if it does click on new task and type in explorer.exe or desktop , it should do the required.

Maybe another "stupid" idea: could it be the monitor doesnot support the resolution in regular mode , or the driver got be conflict with another program, so try to uninstall the latest software you just installed. Hope these STUPID ideas hit the point.
