Hello All!

So the other day my computer was starting up fine. I noticed lately my computer began to freeze for around 30 seconds each freeze...freezes once or twice in several hours. My temp fix is to unplug and replug the HD then restart..that usually fixes the issue. Now my computer won't startup...I either get 1 beep then 1 or 2 long beeps at startup..then sumtimes it restarts itself.

any idea whats goin on? suggestion for fix?

thanks in advance!!!

now when I startup it does the one beep then about a minute later it restarts and beeps again...keep repeating...

Unplug all hard drives and use one stick of RAM, one GPU etc etc. basically minimal hardware. see if it boots. then slowly add your hardware back and see what happens

ok so now I can see the screen booting up..did some repairs with vista boot cd, but now it boots up pass the windows loadig page and its just black with my arrow?

suggestions please?

Black screen with an arrow just happens sometimes with vista/7. as said boot into safe mode and into normal mode again

Are you getting any other beeps, than just one regular short POST beep, when computer is starting?

Let's see, if we can look at your computer booting from an external source.

Please download OTLPE (filesize 120,9 MB)

  • When downloaded double click on OTLPENet.exe and make sure there is a blank CD in your CD drive. This will automatically create a bootable CD.
  • Reboot your system using the boot CD you just created.
    • Note : If you do not know how to set your computer to boot from CD follow the steps here
  • Your system should now display a REATOGO-X-PE desktop.
  • Depending on your type of internet connection, you should be able to get online as well so you can access this topic more easily.
  • Double-click on the OTLPE icon.
  • When asked Do you wish to load the remote registry, select Yes
  • When asked Do you wish to load remote user profile(s) for scanning, select Yes
  • Ensure the box Automatically Load All Remaining Users" is checked and press OK
  • OTL should now start.
  • Press Run Scan to start the scan.
  • When finished, the file will be saved in drive C:\OTL.txt
  • Copy this file to your USB drive if you do not have internet connection on this system
  • Please post the contents of the OTL.txt file in your reply.

Your boot-loader is damaged. Happens. Boot up with live cd like ubuntu to save your data. Can copy data to flash. Live cd lets you access c:\. Then reinstall OS. You could fix boot-loader but would be much harder for you. Will help you fix it if you want. Much quicker reinstall OS.
