Desktop to Laptop

Well, I'm a gamer, and I've been meaning to upgrade my current desktop so that it could run games better. I have one of these:

And, it has all factory default hardware, and everything, so I was wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade to this laptop I've been looking at:

If I were to get the laptop, then I was going to get a bigger monitor to hook it up to, a mouse, keyboard, and upgraded hard drive.

Or, would it be more worth it to just upgrade my current desktop with a better graphics card, four gigs of RAM, a new power supply (if needed), and possibly a new CPU?

The Price of the Laptop is actually like $1,359, or something close to that.

I say upgrade the current desktop. Why switch from a desktop to a laptop? No need, unless you travel or need it for work and such.

Usually power supplies don't need to be upgraded unless your making extreme upgrades...

I suggest just get 4GIGs of memory and a new graphics card... I'm guessing your computers speed is good enough for any of the games you play, probably just the graphics card you need to upgrade...

That was the graphics card I was looking at before for when I build a desktop... and just upgrade the RAM that's like $100 tops...

Anyways, I am a beginner when it comes to stuff like this, so I don't know if that helped at all...

na just do a desktop upgrade, but more fun and you will be able to get higher specs than a $1300 laptop. but if you want a laptop so your able to move it around more then go for that.

Well if you want to move around just get the XP Media or whatever so you can go around your house and connect to your desktop through your TV's. :)

That's what I eventually want to set up...

Difference:

-Price ... lol...
-Yours has TV-Out, mine doesn't.
-Clock Speed on yours is better [Dual 400MHz and mines 600MHz]

Yours is better but in my opinion not worth the cost? Maybe I'm wrong... like I said before, I am not an expert on computers... just an amateur.

Wow! that's quite a laptop, but it's alright in comparison to a desktop. Hard core gamers don't use laptops, but instead they use desktops. Laptop is only cool if you want to play games on the go, but if that's the case, then get yourself a PSP or something so you don't have lug around the huge laptop. Take my words for it, carrying around a laptop is a pain....

I personally can make you a build for around $600 that is as good or better than the laptop you're looking at. With the money you're willing to spend on that laptop I can help you put together an intensely powerful system.

Okay. I was thinking about it, and I really don't need the laptop, and it does make more sense to just upgrade my current computer, seeing as it's already quite fast and everything, but does anyone think that I should upgrade my processor at all? I'm not too keen on the types and models of processors and how fast they are, so if someone could let me know about the speed and stuff of my current processor and if I should get a new one, that would help. I'm eventually going to need a laptop like that one, but it can wait for awhile. Thanks guys, you all were really helpful.

However, if anyone has any other options, opinions, etc. on what I can do to make my computing life more enjoyable, lol, then I'm willing to listen to them.

And one more thing, lol. Should I upgrade my Vista version at all? Like, I have Home Premium 32-Bit at the moment. Should I at least upgrade to Home Premium 64-Bit? Or maybe Ultimate 64-Bit? Because I heard that 32-Bit only has 3.3 GB capacity. Is this true? Any suggestions?
