Desktop to Tv Wireless

Hi, I know of Intel WiDi, but my laptop is not compatible, I have a Samsung Tv. It has HDMi, and a Wireless adapter plugged in.
I want to share my desktop with it, just as I would if it was plugged in via HDMi cable.

I know it can be done, but I want to know the best way in regards to response time and resolution quality.

I am also aware that I may need to purchase hardware, I dont want to though if it won't work

I helped a friend on similar problem. He had a Wireless Router. So had to go into the TV's preferences setup, and set it to look for a Home Network option. On the TV Screen it said it found a Network, and used the remote control to follow a couple simple steps to complete.

If you go to your TV Manufactures Web site, and look up your Model TV, they will probably have all the steps posted.
 
I should've mentioned, its not a smart TV, does this make a difference? Its so simple with a cable, it shouldn't be a pain to take the cable out :) or samsung need to update allshare so you can multi-screen
