Desktop upgrade question.

I am thinking about purchasing 2gb/4gb more RAM for my desktop, which would put me up to 6gb/8gb.

Just wondering, do the RAM sticks have to be the same type? I am currently using:

Just wondering if I can purchase different sticks, or they have to be of the same type... and if I can what should I look for comparable to those sticks.

Also, I am thinking about purchasing a new video card. This one perhaps, and wondering if it is compatible with my MOBO:

Video card:

Mobo:

Just wondering if my PSU:

can run 6gb/8gb RAM, the video card above and my CPU:

as well as the other essentials: Hard drive, disk drive, whatnot.

Otherwise, any deals for video card, or ram around the same price?

it should all work fine, but it is recommended to get the same model ram, and also that isn't the best psu brand, especially since the 6870 might want a little too much from it, i can't say that will work well, but it will with the mobo.

Brand would really effect it? What PSU would you recommend upgrading to then?

for the psu for the price may as well get this, offers about sae power or a little more since it is a value one, but has the rebate so it is prob a better deal.

I already own the PSU I listed, and it is running in my desktop right now. Was just checking if it was capable of running the RAM/cpu/video card or not. Only want to upgrade that if absolutely necessary right now.

i put that up when the others put some up that weren't the best deals.

I figured. Just wanted to clear up in case me listing my PSU confused anyone, giving them the idea I needed one.

I'll definitely look into the one you posted though. :good: Thanks
