Desktop?

intel 4004

Hi, this is my first post, first time to plan on building a computer, but not the first time taking apart computers.
I'm planning on building a desktop in the summer. I really can't decide how. I know how to build, but I want to build a cheap and can play many games. AMD or Intel? ATi or Nvidia? it doesn't matter. I would like it to be somthing that is under $700.
Here is what I would like:
Intel: i5+ AMD: Phenom(I'm not familiar with them)
ATi: Redeon 5000+ Nvidia: GTX 460+

It would be nice if it can play Crysis 2. Not kidding, I want to play that game.
Thanks.

Welcome to CF :good:
There will probably be price drops on some current AMD products when the new architecture Bulldozer is released in early summer.
With AMD right now, you'd be looking at something like a 955 x4 cpu and 460/6850 gpu. After the release a bigger gpu could probly be had for less, using a $700 budget.

I can't really say if I can afford it. Thats my dad's decision. So if I want a Asus motherboard, which one I can have?
